A UK developer user group review the Framework Design Guidelines

I just noticed that a UK based developer user group reviewed the Framework Design Guidelines...

http://www.ukaug.co.uk/BookResults.asp?Topic=.NET

This book offers a unique opportunity to listen in as part of the .NET design team to detailed technical discussions that have shaped the framework. The personal annotations within the 346-page text provided by 24 Microsoft .NET Team developers draw the reader into each chapter. The different views, controversial points, and discussions on where the framework could have been improved make this under the hood look at technical topics very readable. Chapters contain very small snippets of code to illustrate concepts. The book included a CD ROM containing video presentations and sample API specifications.

....

And of course, my favorite quote (only slightly taken out of context):

This is a book that can be read for the pleasure...

Thanks!

Apparently the English have a strange idea of "pleasure" :)

I wholly agree with that. I have thoroughly enjoyed reading the FDG and it has confirmed that the way I write code does conform to many of these guidelines. I think the word is an apty describes the way we feel when we code in .NET
