W00T, MapPoint 2009 and Streets & Trips 2009

Ah yeah. I’m so happy I can talk about this now. Chris Pendleton’s got the scoop here on the upcoming release of our MapPoint 2009 product for businesses and Streets & Trips 2009 for consumers, coming out September 1st. The work they did on this version is AWESOME with a new UI that is really cool.

Check out Chris’ blog for screen shots and all the details.

Glad you can talk about it too.  I am eager to know if MP'09 fixed a few of the warts of MP'06.  Specifically, could you comment on whether:

*  MP09 has a native .net interface as opposed to the MP06 COM-based interface

*  MP09 can run as a library component vs. requiring it's own separate process space?

*  Is there a preview or evaluation version I can get my hands on?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Rick. The 2009 version is still using the existing COM interface and in its own process space still.

Unfortunately they don't have this available through our regular beta channels so you'll have to wait until it his the store shelves in September.

Thanks,

Mark
