About the Conference

We invite you to join us for a day of developer-oriented technical sessions, featuring Microsoft Visual Studio Team System (VSTS), Data Access in Visual Basic 9 (VB9), .Net Framework 3.5, Windows Workflow Foundation (WF) and Windows Communication Foundation (WCF). These exciting technologies enable entirely new types of applications to be built in record time. Learn how VSTS helps software development teams deliver complex software solutions more successfully.  The VSTS platform provides software development lifecycle tools aimed at enforcing best practices for the roles performed by team members - project managers, architects, developers, database professionals, and testers.  It also provides an integration platform that improves communication and collaboration between team members throughout the entire development process. This presentation will describe the benefits of VSTS rather than just describe its features.  You will learn to create and integrate workflows into everyday applications in the session on WF. This session will also demonstrate how WCF, a unified programming model for building service-oriented applications can be used to build secure, reliable, transacted solutions that integrate across platforms and interoperate with existing investments. Modern applications operate on data in several different forms: Relational tables, XML documents, and in-memory objects. Each of these domains can have profound differences in semantics, data types, and capabilities, and much of the complexity in today’s applications is the result of these mismatches. The session on Data Access in Visual Basic 9 will explore the new data access capabilities brought into VB9 via LINQ.  You will learn about simplifying querying data via integrated query and transform operations, as well as simplifications in working with XML.

These sessions will target Developers, Architects and Web designers, be very much demonstration oriented, and will be delivered by seasoned developers with experience in Government and Public Sector. Seize this opportunity to immerse yourself amidst these exciting new technologies!
