Scott Woodgate's OutBursts

A Pattern or Two - First in First Out and Data Aggregator

As part of our deep-dive training that Mike and Brandon are working on we are producing a bunch of patterns.  We have a couple to share with you already to give us feedback on:

A. An asynchronous request response data aggregator you can play with here.

This also provides templates for:

1) Scatter-Gatherer

2) Aggregator

3) Process Manager

4) Request-Reply

5) Correlation Identifier

6) Publish and Subscribe

B. First in/first out (FIFO) Pattern which you can grab here.

Btw the above is encode in "pattern-speak" based on terminology introduced in Gregor's book and David T's PAG Pattern's book you can read here or order in soft-cover.

Actually these patterns are from a different project than the Deep Dive Developer training. We’re also working on a toolkit which documents a small set of patterns and pattern groups for common BizTalk Server 2004 scenarios. Some of the patterns will be shown in the training but Brandon is exclusively working on the patterns toolkit. Ganesh Amle has also been a major contributor to the patterns.

Hi Scott, what format will the "Deep Dive Developer Training" take? Will it be available in our part of the world (NZ/Aus)?

The Deep Dive class will certainly be offered multiple times on the Microsoft campus. I'm relatively certain that it'll be offered at least once in the UK, Asia (probably Singapore) and on the European continent. There is an outside chance that the class may get scaled beyond the current plans as well. I’ll get those plans to Scott for posting here as soon as they are finalized.

Mike
