System.Net usability study

I'm running a study this week on the Beta 1 version of the System.Net namespace.

In addition to the feedback I'll be collecting from participants, I thought it would be useful to capture any comments that anybody else might have on the usability of this namespace. If you've used the types in this namespace and think that there are some usability improvements that could be made, I'd love to hear them.

some things I'd like to see,

System.Net.WebClient that has call backs or better suport for feeding a progress bar.

A Managed method of determining if you are connected to the net or not. I hate having to interop to wininet.dll

WebClient access to HTTP data like file size and so on ...

David - unfortunately the study is not looking at System.Net.Sockets. I noticed that you had specific feedback about these APIs on your website and I will forward that to the team.

Russ - thanks for the feedback. I'll make sure to pass it on.
