  3. Space and paper-saving settings (for print and online documents) - Contains tips and settings to help conserve space for documents that are viewed primarily online but may also be printed. Instructions are also provided in this template for making these settings the default for your new documents.

What are SmartArt graphics?

The short answer: SmartArt graphics are visual representations of your information and ideas.

Let's say, for instance, you want to show the hierarchy in your group. In Word 2007, Excel 2007, or PowerPoint 2007, you can quickly select an org chart SmartArt graphic that looks like this:

Or, what if you have a timeline that requires some polish? There's a SmartArt graphic for that, too:

Read this article, Learn more about SmartArt graphics, for more detailed information. Then, peruse the free SmartArt graphics available to you on Office Online, and download the ones you want to use.

Issue with "Any year calendar creator" and introducing a new flavor

Each month we, the template folks, comb your comments in the hopes of finding issues that we can fix. Sometimes it's the template which is faultly and other times, we find all that's required is a little education.

Back in May, we published an Any year calendar creator in Excel 2007. Many comments came in saying that it was broken because the dates didn't automatically populate when the year was changed. One thing to try if this happens is to make sure Excel 2007 is set to automatically calculate.

I also wanted to take a moment to introduce a new flavor of the Any year calendar called the Perpetual yearly calendar.

Please let us know what you think and keep those comments coming!
